February to April Wrap Up

Welcome back to another wrap up of my monthly reads. Except, surprise! This time there are three months to account for because what even is time anymore? All I know is that post wedding and honeymoon, my husband and I said we were looking forward to planning absolutely nothing for at least a year… and then we ended up selling one house and buying another. Needless to say it was a STRESSFUL time, a busy time, but it was well worth it.

Anyhoo! Without further ado, my romance reads of the past three months!

Electric Idol by Katee Robert

If you are previously unfamiliar with Katee Robert’s work, here’s a quick summary: you better have the fire department on speed dial because hot hot hot! Now, I was hesitant to start this one immediately because I was partial to her first one for REASONS (that begin with Hades and end with and Persephone), but this lived up to Neon Gods and I couldn’t put it down.

Well Matched by Jen DeLuca

I absolutely adore the Well Met series, mostly because it combines two of my loves (Romance + Ren Faire) into one series, but also because the characters and plot and writing are all AMAZING. I was waiting for Mitch to have his own time to shine from the first book and IT HAPPENED and I LOVED it and all was well.

Lease on Love by Falon Ballard

This one was one my to-read radar for quite some time, and it definitely met my expectations. I had to stop myself from laughing out loud more than once because it was, like, 1 a.m. and my husband was sleeping beside me.

Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon

Loved Ex Talk. Loved Weather Girl. Will forever recommend this.

Marrying Winterborne Lisa Kleypas

CLEARLY one of four Kleypas books (I’ve been spending a lot of time commuting and in the car sooooo audiobooks). The others I will combine as one, but this one stands on its own because: RHYS WINTERBORNE. I saw the hype on Twitter. I didn’t believe the hype on Twitter. I was wrong, oh so wrong. RHYS. FREAKING. WINTERBORNE.

House of Sky and Breath by Sarah J Maas

Not going to lie, I had to do a mini refresher course before diving into this beast of a book (which was HARD to carry around mid-move, mind you), but once again SJM lived up to my expectations, threw me some curve balls, and can I just say: THAT ENDING?????
If you know, you know.

Devil in Spring by Lisa Kleypas
Hello Stranger by Lisa Kleypas
Devil’s Daughter by Lisa Kleypas

More Lisa Kleypas goodness. Honestly, for each of these books, I was kind of sad when I would have to get out of the car and stop listening. I found myself sneaking in extra minutes here and there and then they were over and I was even more sad. I have two left in the series (though I have heard….slightly mixed things about the last one……) and then what do I do????

Spoiler Alert by Olivia Dade

If you were upset over the ending of GOT, this is the book for you. But also, for many other reasons too. I enjoyed this book and ended up finishing it very quickly. Besides the Kleypas audio book binge, I had been reading thrillers and fiction Book of the Month picks, so it was nice to get back to my contemporary romances.

January Wrap Up

I can’t believe that, as I’m typing this, we are down to the last few hours of January 2022. I feel like I’m still stuck in 2020 for…reasons…and yet here we are. However, unlike 2020, I am actually reading — and flying through the books. So, it’s only fair that I share some favorites with you, right?

Now, most of my January reads were, surprisingly enough, thrillers, thanks to my Book of the Month picks that I had stockpiled. But romance-wise… I was absolutely spoiled by my reads this month. In no particular order…

Love at First by Kate Clayborn

I was hit straight in the gut by soooooo many lines. I couldn’t put this one down, and I definitely gave up one (or four) hours of sleep to finish it.

Cold-Hearted Rake by Lisa Kleypas

Not my first Lisa Kleypas read, and it certainly won’t be the last! I tend to be really picky about my historical romances, but Lisa Kleypas is an auto-read for me.

The Duchess Deal by Tessa Dare

I heard so much about this one, so naturally I had to pick it up. Did. Not. Disappoint. Tessa Dare will be joining Lisa Kleypas on the auto-read list.

I am very surprised that only three romances made the list of *checks Goodreads* nine books I’ve finished this month, but I have so many fabulous ones that I’m currently reading, so February is sure to be a long list!

If there are any favorites that you’ve read so far this month, please send them my way! I have a Kindle that I’m not afraid to stock!
